Video production process step by step

A clear process turns video production from a creative gamble into a predictable investment.

Here are the five stages, what happens in each, and what you sign off.

    Stage 1: Briefing

Goal, audience, message, channel, deliverables, deadline, budget. Output: written brief.

    Stage 2: Pre-production

Concept, script, storyboard, casting, location, crew, schedule, call sheet. Output: production package signed off.

    Stage 3: Production (the shoot)

1–5 shooting days with a professional crew, director, and producer. Output: raw footage backed up to redundant drives.

    Stage 4: Post-production

Edit (V1, V2, final), color grading, sound design, music, motion graphics, subtitles, versioning.

    Stage 5: Delivery

Master file plus social cutdowns in required aspect ratios and durations.

Based in Helsinki, working across Finland and internationally.
